WhErE To BeGiN....

I can't believe how long it's been since I've posted anything. That's probably because life has be beyond crazy the last few months! For those of you that don't know me and Cory spent our summer in Wyoming while I was on maternity leave. Cory is working on the ranch that his dad leased until about the middle of October. Here are a few pics of the place and of Cory & his dad.

I had to come back to Montana the end of July to start work. The first week in July Cruiz and I had plans to go to Utah to see our family and we also got to have Jodi's kids and have a swim day. Here are a few pictures from that day. It was honestly the most fun I've had in a long time. All that was missing was Cory.

That same weekend Cruiz & I headed to Grace to the Caribou County Fair to watch my brothers and their wives in the team branding. We got to spend the day with my mom, Presleigh, and Nevada. It was really nice getting to see my cute nieces and family. Here are some pictures from the fair.

That night right when we got back to my parents house I got a phone call from Cory. He said he had ripped his thumb off and was headed to meet the ambulance. I immediately got packed and me and Cruiz were headed to Wyoming, My brother Tee called and said he didn't want me driving upset, so he would drive me. By the time I got to Tee & Daysha's house Cory called and said that they were life-flighting him to the University of Utah. I feel so blessed that we were in Grace that weekend or else we wouldn't have gotten there before they rushed him into surgery. We got there about 45 minutes before they took him into surgery. So what happened was the coil of his rope fell over his thumb and basically popped it off ten feet away from him. When he found it there was about 8 inches of tendon attached to the thumb that ripped out of his arm. They decided to try to reattached the thumb but the top joint would be fused because they couldn't reattach the tendon. The surgeon was able to reattach the thumb but it didn't take about 4 days into our hospital stay, so they sent us home and we basically watched the end of his thumb die. We went back a week later to have the end of his thumb amputated. This surgery was successful and we headed home. But I didn't make it home with Cory...he insisted that he go back to Wyoming and keep working. I thought he was crazy but I couldn't convince him to just come home. I honestly haven't ever met anyone with such a good attitude. He has had to relearn how to do basically everything from buttoning up his shirt, writing, roping, and throwing a football left handed. He never took a second to feel bad for himself. He just jumped right into to figuring out life without most of his thumb. This experience has just made me love him more and more. To see his determination to not let anything slow him down is SO amazing. I know that Heavenly Father never gives us more than we can handle and I am in awe at Cory's faith.

Since Cory has been back in Wyoming, Cruiz and I have just been back in Montana missing his dad and hanging out. He is getting so big so fast! He will be 5 months on the 29th of this month! Where did the time go?!?! He is rolling over and talking like crazy. He also is loving rice cereal. At 4 months he got his first official BIG BOY haircut. He was born with so much hair and he never lost any of it so it was out of control. He looks like such a big boy now. Thanks Megan for such a great haircut!

WHAT A CRAZY FEW MONTHS!!!! Now we're just waiting for Cory to come home! But until then Cruiz & I will record all of his football games for him.
